Notes from Around the EHCC Gammo Takes A Look at the Important Topics By Pedro Gammo / EHSPN.com - Rumblings have been going around that QC is in talks with Las Vegas and Rakeville in regards to a possible trade involving power hitting outfielder Andruw Jones. Officials in the QC are skeptical that a deal will get done because they are not receiving offers they feel are adequate for what Jones brings to a playoff team, but they will continue to negotiate. -Rumors surround Golden, CO where the team has allowed their GM to spend a lot more money on the team for 2006. One main rumor is that if the team does not make the playoffs this year GM Mike Comtois may step down and hire a new GM. Possible replacements include Bill Coors and Kobe Bryant. -The city of Tijuana has said they will not host team Mexico during the World Baseball Classic. The facilities are a little run down after Hispanics' pitcher Todd Jones invited locals to party with him on the field last week while management was out of town. -Las Vegas has announced that they are building a new retractable roof on their stadium. With the new addition they have decided to change the name of their stadium from "The Dogg House" to the "Thunderdome". The team has also announced they have hired Dane Cook as their Promotions Director. It is expected that Mr. Cook will move up to a higher position sometime later in the season as he gains more experience with the team. -Peoria has embraced their new team with open arms. The city has given the key to the city to owner Dave Grubb, which he first used to sneak into the Riverboat casino for a joy ride when no one was looking.
