Rabble Rabble Rabble A brief look at the EHCC rumor mill By Pedro Gammo / EHSPN.com -- Is Livan Hernandez on the move? One source stated that a couple teams have been interested in the ace from Plymouth. The Bells have a couple offers for their star starter and would be smart to get as much as possible for him while he's hot. They all-star has been defiantly receiving calls from Las Vegas and Tijuana and there is speculation that other teams looking for starting pitching are offering the Bells something worth looking at. -- Marcus Giles just switched teams but there is talk that he won't be staying in Las Vegas very long. "Marcus is a great player. We've been trying to get him here for a long time and we're very happy he's here. The only problem is timing. With Rickie [Weeks] starting now, Marcus isn't as important to us. We do know his value at his position [2B] is worth a lot though and won't just get rid of him for the sake of dumping him off," commented GM Howe Dogg. There have been trade talks with Haverhill, Bridgewater, and Tijuana. "We've been talking to Vegas regarding some future possible trades, but none have involved Giles," mentioned GM Peter Kantor. He continued to another reporter by saying, "Yeah Vegas keeps bugging us about Giles. We don't want that bitch, we want Teixeira!" Las Vegas has said they are waiting as well to see if there is any other interest around the league. -- The Rockets have made the one blockbuster trade of the year acquiring David Ortiz at first base and it is not expected that they will stop there. Rumors are speculating that Rakeville is about to acquire a top outfielder to fill in their need for more power in their line up. "Let's just say, when I get him I'll be considered the favorite to win it all this year. At least, by me anyway," GM Jack Reed was overheard saying to another GM. The exact outfielder is unknown for sure but there have been talks that is involves one from a bottom 6 team in the EHCC. Corey Patterson is rumored to be involved in the deal as well. There have been rumors that Rakeville had tried to acquire Barry Bonds from the Swingers earlier in the year and speculators have not ruled out the possibilities that the Rockets have finally succeeded in their fight for the slugger. Jim Edmonds and Vladimir Guerrero are also thought to be on the Rockets' wish list. -- Brandon Webb and the rest of the Shaddupu pitching staff have been taken off the market. In the past month GM Yukon Cornelius put Webb on the trading block but after much talk with Quebec City and Las Vegas, Weymouth has decided to hold onto the starter. -- Jim Edmonds has said to have demanded a trade from Salem-Winston. Nobody from the Green Monsters would comment on the issue. -- The Markies were in talk with Las Vegas about a trade that would have sent Pat Burrell to Bizton and Barry Zito to Vegas. Bizton's GM was said to have agreed to the trade but backed out after being threatened by Barry Zito's wife. It was thought that Mrs. Zito highly enjoys living in the fictional city of Bizton and doesn't want to leave. -- John Patterson may be on the move. Tokyo officials have stated that a few teams have been interested in trading for the starter. "I like Japan and all, but I can't understand any of the billboards. I'm a big fan of billboards and I'd like to be able to read them, so if I get traded to the states I'd be happy in that sense. Otherwise, it's really not up to me," commented Patterson. -- GM Pat Renaud was videotaped jumping up and down screaming "woohoo" when the news was stated that JD Drew was put on the DL. -- GM Yukon Cornelius cannot remember any of the names of the players on the Shaddupu staff. It has been said that the Shaddupu team is looking to get younger (yes, I know this isn't so much groundbreaking news here folks, as all teams seem to be trying to do this) but refused to name names. "Yukon dos not like to give names. He's a very private person when it comes to the guts of his team," commented Shaddupu PR Director Bob Barker. -- The Markies have received numerous offers involving Joe Blanton and Jeremy Bonderman but have refused to part with their young stars. Shaddupu have been very persistent in their offers for Blanton in particular. One offer involved Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Lee, Bonderman, Blanton, and another unnamed player. "I really just want to wait and see how my teams develops. Unless something blows me off my feet I'm not looking to make any big trades right now," commented Bizton GM. -- Free agent Scott Erickson is my EHCC "Man of the Month" for his help in raising over $10,000 for research regarding steroids use in the EHCC. "I figure that if they can find a way to stop the steroids from spreading I may have a chance in this league," Scott told reporters in a recent press conference.
